Service Life Modeling

Service Life Modeling

Service life modeling is utilized to assess durability and compute sacrificial steel requirements during the design of earth reinforcements. Remaining service life for in service reinforcements is a closely related, and important metric. Assessments of remaining service life are important to verify assumptions that were used in design, to quantify effects from conditions that were discovered during construction, or in service, that were not anticipated or considered in design; and to assist with asset management and decisions relative to maintenance, retrofit or replacements of earth reinforcements. ERTesting can use the results from condition assessment, and measurements of corrosion rate, and our extensive database where the performance of systems in similar conditions are archived to predict the future performance of facilities that rely on earth reinforcements for stability, or to maintain serviceability.
